Ecology
Awareness and respect of nature encouraged us as far back as 1967 to emphasize eco-compatible development policies focusing on the use of renewable or sustainable energy. M.I.T.I. set forth on this road well in advance of current topics such as sustainable development and rational exploitation of power resources.
Today, about 70% of our electricity requirement is covered by our own electricity-thermal co-generation plant. This technological solution ensures significant fuel savings at comparable demand levels that also achieves a significant reduction of the CO2 emitted into the atmosphere.
Following the liberalization of power markets, M.I.T.I. has fully implemented its "green" strategy by stipulating energy purchase contracts from sustainable sources generated by a hydro-electric system capable of covering all its power requirements.
The water used is fully depurated without involving chemical substances. Modern treatment plant means that the water leaving the dyeing department can be entirely recycled in agriculture.
